At present, energy-saving and environment-protection are the two basic policies in China and therefore the annual National Energy-saving propaganda week has been successfully held for ten years. "Shanghai International Energy-saving Fair¡± (hereinafter referred to as "Energy-saving Fair")is part of the series activities of national week of promoting energy conservation in Shanghai, jointed hosted by the seven units namely the Shanghai Energy Conservation Association, Shanghai environmental protection propaganda and education center, Shanghai Energy Conservation Supervision Center, Shanghai Energy Conservation Service Centre, Shanghai Equipment Management Association, Shanghai Science and Technology Association, the Shanghai Electric Power Company. The Shanghai Municipal Economic Commission and Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau have provided strong support and the Energy-saving Fair has been successfully held in 2006, 2007.
In order to build a high-end architecture energy saving and environmental protection stage, the Shanghai Municipal Construction Committee, and Economic Commission as well as MATi and ShanghaiMart, will organize the "2008 Shanghai International Green-Eco Building Technology Trade Fair" ( "GEB")in June 2008. "GEB" has been recognized as the architectural energy-saving and environment protection part of "2008 third Shanghai International Energy-saving Fair¡±.
"GEB" is sponsored by the MATi as the extension of the third "green strategy". We plan to interpret the current national and local energy-saving standards, provides the focus of technology-oriented indicators to a variety of energy saving and environmental protection technology solutions for technique products, professional groups and the general public. Officials from the Shanghai Municipal Economic Commission, Shanghai Construction and Transportation Committee as well as Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau, experts from major architectural design institutes, real estate agencies, and construction units as well as other general public will visit the Fair. With the fourth "green strategy" peak Forum , the series of roadshows, the "Green Habitat life experience Day," the Shanghai exhibition center in June will be the focus of 2008 Shanghai building energy-conservation and environmental-friendly spirit, and the concern by the Government.
